This is the Last Will and Testament of Stephen Collett farmer of Pine Tree Farm, Finniss of the Hundred of Nkangita, County Hindmarsh in the Province of South Australia made on the Twenty Sixth Day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight and Ninety Seven

 

I revoke all other Wills made by me

 

I appoint John Dawson of Finniss and William Neal Satchell of Finniss to be my executors and direct that my funeral and testamentary expenses and all my debts shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

 

I give unto my wife Elizabeth Collett for her natural life Sections 2325 + 2350 situated on the Finniss Hundred of Nkangita Hindmarsh County after her death it goes to my son Stephen Collett also cattle, horses, machinery, and all implements

 

William Collett my son previously provided for

 

Thomas Collett my son previously provided for

 

Sally Collett my daughter, I give that portion of Section No. 153 the southern side of Goolwa Road for her natural life also Two Pounds Ten Shillings to be paid to her twelve months after my decease yearly

 

Elizabeth Dawson my daughter is to receive a twelve month after my decease Fifty Pounds sterling

 

Richard Henry my son is to receive Fifty Pounds sterling a twelve month after my decease

 

Mary Ann Henley my daughter is to receive Fifty Pounds sterling a twelve month after my decease

 

Stephen Collett my son is to receive the residue of my property being portion of Section 153, 154, 155 (and also those Sections no  2325 + 2350 after the decease of his mother which he is to keep and nourish during her lifetime) for his life and heirs forever

 

Susan Collett my daughter is to receive a twelve month after my decease the sum of One Hundred Pounds sterling and if she stops with her mother to assist her in the dairy and household affairs for the term of Five years after my decease she is to receive another Fifty Pounds sterling

In witness whereof I the said Stephen Collett of Finniss have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand the Twenty Seventh Day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven

 

Signed by the said Stephen Collett the testator on the day and year aforesaid in the presence of John Dawson and William Neal Satchell
